Launched in 2019, the Green Riyadh project is one of the most ambitious urban forestation projects in the world. Bolstered by the Strategy, this flagship project will continue to transform Riyadh into an urban oasis, with the planting of 7.5M new trees and the construction of new city parks, gardens, and green spaces. As part of Green Riyadh’s efforts to date, 1.2M trees have been planted across 10 neighborhoods with the greening of 100km of main roads and rehabilitation of more than 2km2 of wadis.
